Welcome on MEDiakitab blog. This program aims at sharing information and ressources dedicated to reading and writing practices, from story telling to digital form, in the Euro-Mediterranean space.

MEDiakitab association, located in Marseille, is in charge of administrating the blog. Contents are a reflection of the activities, analysis and knowledge developped by the network members.

The association origins

At the beginning of 2009, COBIAC and ZINC/ECM formalized a common project aiming at developing a Euro-Mediterranean Program for knowledge acess through books and multimedia.

In dialogue with their partners in Lebanon, Egypt, Algeria, France, Palestine, the associations decided to develop a sustainable project, through a network of reliable partners, sharing a common interest in cultural activities and practices with books and multimedia.

The founding seminar took place in Marseille in June 2010. In this period, a bilingual blog was created to gather analysis, experiences and relevant and useful information in their common field.

Between 2010 and 2012, training sessions were carried out in Milan and Alexandria, network members met in a meeting in Marseille, two interdisciplinary projects were conceived. One of them named “Alif, Alpha and Arobase” resulted in workshops with young people and fund raising activities.

Since then, the first 13 members changed. At the beginning of 2013, structural changes happened in ZINC, and COBIAC. That is why an association was created to bear the project and develop the network. MEDiakitab association was created and became a member of Anna Lindh Foundation and Territoires Solidaires.
