In Lebanon, like in Marseille and Alexandria, reading challenges are renewed thanks to internet support. A playful contest between young readers of two schools. The meeting creates emulation that stimulate the desire for reading, writing and encourages each group to look for creativity. The questions they ask take different forms : riddles, cross words, word search grid, puzzles or other kind of reading tests.
After a successful episode in 2014, launched by the French Institute in Tyr, with about a hundred participants from 3 schools, a new episode begins in 2015. The competition is open to the schools from South Lebanon, up to 30 classrooms. The texts to be read are available on Culturethèque platform which is a digital library developped by the French Institute. Educational tools are also available on the blog.
