Mona Helmy, who is in charge of Alexandria book festival and intellectual propriety in Bibliotheca Alexandrina has been invited by the City of Marseille to discover the corridors and the lights of patrimony and book culture. The two months stay, coordinated by MEDiakitab association, is made up of stays in several public structures (Marseille history museum, la BDP, l’ARL), associations (La Marelle, Libraires à Marseille, Couleur Cactus) and publishing houses. The heritage days, « Les littorales » festival, lectures and artistic events in the public spaces also give rythm to her stay.
This work placement has been designed through the cooperation program between the City of Marseille and Alexandria governorate. It empowers her skills in Bibliotheca Alexandrina, especially concerning main rules of intelectual property, in the French cultural field. An other point is about the quality and diversity of cultural animations. She noticed than sometimes, best projects are based on very simple ideas that are fulfilling the public wishes.
