In Egypt, The “toktok” is the name of small tricycle cars used in rural area and popular area of Cairo. In this comics, toktoks sidle into Cairo’s crowded suburbs and main streets, carrying its passengers with their diverse ideas and backgrounds. About ten artists took part in the comics which met a great success when it was first published, at the beginning of 2011. On the cover page the team describe the project as a bustling mass of comic strips in a free, contemporary spirit, drawn and edited by its own artists. The second volume of the book should be as striking, with references to the social awaking in Egypt, during the revolutionary events.
